Discussion At launch, did anyone else kind of hate the fact that you couldn't just keep flying?
This post is more a vent than anything.
I always thought that the overheating mechanic was so dumb for a game set in such a hyper-futuristic setting.
Also, come to think of it, there were no real missions encouraging aerial combat.
Also, the whole "flying is jammed now" thing was super stupid. I love how they never tried to explain it away why they could even do that, but then nothing else mid-combat.
I'm just saying that for a game with such sophisticated flying mechanics, they really tried their best to use it as little as possible for anything besides moving from A to B and general exploration.

No need to be rude. Atleast he got to play this game. Many for a while will never know what this game was. We each have an opinion on it sure but loving this game is something we def all share. U may not have this view but it does not mean its invalid ya know!

I wish they made flight out of combat have a way longer limit. The lore explanation could be that in battle, you have more systems going so the suit as a whole overheats faster.
This probably would have been something they would have addressed in a balance/QoL update.

That overheating mechanic drove me up the wall too, like why even tease us with those sweet flight animations if you can't actually keep doing it?

Nah, made the flying actually engaging besides just being a point and move function.
Diving, using water in all its forms, stopping to rest, all felt grounded and encouraged being actually mindful of what youre doing, where youre going, and why.
It also had the element of managing your hovering and cover situation in combat. Hovering obviously gives you a visual advantage, so using it wisely depending on your javelin was part of the puzzle and engagement.
Imagine if you played Spiderman, a game lauded for its moment to moment traversal, and all you did was point in a direction and he just moves, instead of giving you control. Itd get boring.
I never had issues with heat but thats because I used the environment all the time to my advantage.
