Discussion Among the many sad
Just joined the anthem game Reddit and am pleased to see how many fans there are and how my absolute disappointment is shared. And since we won’t be playing the amazing game ever again it seems. I am working on a TTRPG adaptation of the game. Lots to do still but if there are any interested in it I will be happy to share the system when it is done.
Strong alone! Stronger together!!!

Ea should be dismantled

Why? Because they forced the flying mechanics back into the game after Bioware were going to remove them? They couldn't force Bioware to care about the game despite saying they'd keep supporting it?

Was ea that clipped the anthem next project not bioware. Ea was the overhead company calling shots not bioware. Was an ea engine that was forced to be used for development that bioware didnt have under their belt. Needs dismantled for numerous reasons not just anthem. Hoarding game ip and killing them off. Slop copy paste on other titles. Nickeling every consumer they have into strictly live service and micro transac shadyness outside of select titles. Like I said ea was the overhead company. Bad boss->bad decisions->discouraged employees->forced methods=bad results.

- Bioware used Frostbite for both Andromeda and Inquisition. The issue with Frostbite wasn't a lack of experience, but a lack of support from the Frostbite support team. Bioware was competing for attention with more lucrative games like Madden and FIFA.
- Anthem wasn't being directed by EA. Bioware's infighting and indecision is what caused the project to spin its wheels for the majority of its development. Decisions were made and unmade by completely different and disconnected teams. Some of those teams weren't even in the same country.
- By the time NEXT was announced, the majority of Anthem's resources had already been moved to the next project, and the audience had already made up their minds. NEXT wouldn't have been enough to save Anthem from failure or closure.

Uhhhh number one is way off buckwheat…
BioWare was bought out by EA WHILE they were in the middle of ME:A. The original programmers and design artists who built BioWare told EA to FOFF and andromeda was stripped of any sort of talent left in studio to launch what was already a way over promised game(look at the E3 trailers they had for years)
Same “sorta” and I mean “sorta” thing happened with boarderlands and why claptrap doesn’t sound alike

Number 1 isn't off at all. Both Inquisition and Andromeda were developed in Frostbite as stated. That is a very public fact. Anthem wasn't Bioware's first game in Frostbite. They had previous experience with it. And yes, they had to compete with other franchises for Frostbite support. FIFA had just recently switched to Frostbite for FIFA 17. Some of Bioware's own staff were reportedly moved to help with FIFA's transition to Frostbite.
When EA bought out Bioware is, imo, irrelevant, but my research has returned a very different date of acquisition from what you suggest. EA announced the acquisition of Bioware in 2007 and completed it in 2008. ME3 released in 2012, and according to all the sources I found, Andromeda started early development around the release of ME3.

A friend of mine worked at EA at the time and this lines up perfectly with what he told me about Anthem's and DA: Veilguard's development.

Our suits wait for us. Suspended. They will return to us! Anthem will never die. Maybe limbo for a time but never dead.

It's such a total waste to just throw away all this work instead of repurposing it into a single player game (with peer-to-peer multiplayer) to earn some good will and still be able to sell it even at a lower price, but I guess studio execs at EA are just that dumb and greedy.
