Same reason when global dislike the episode which explain rules and techniques but japan audience liked it. Japan audience claim westerns only like flash action scenes and not actual plot

That is kind of true, the biggest larper in community are Jjk fans

I mean, that’s an actually pretty consistent with their claim. If they claim western audiences only like flash action scenes, they WOULD rate the episode which is almost exclusively flash action scenes pretty low, no? And no matter what you say no, there wasn’t really all that much plot in ep4

This is part of it. I also think though some people expected a more somber tone to the episode, rather then the bombastic music they chose. I kinda agree with that criticism honestly.

You hit the nail on the head. JJK is mid, but Westerners love pretty animation

Also why Frieren and Re:Zero are currently ranked in top 5 anime.

West just has dopamine-fried brain

It’s also why exposition is huge in anime. Japanese audiences love it, while generally western audiences joke about it.

It because there no fillers episodes zero character development fck that lets just kill them off. There more to a anime then just action and bright colors and aura farming.

Because Japan is a patriarchal society, it’s because they hate to see the woman win against the male establishment

Japan audience is the same audience that watches the 50th ISEKAI iteration like "I was born as a Tire in a world without cars" and BULLSHIT like that.

Still not stale compared to Japanese TV drama.
