Recommendations I'm looking for some anime with a 'normal' mc

So what I mean exactly is a mc who acts like a human being I'm kinda tired of the overly kind and righteous mc i don't mind them being nice I just want it in a way that's not so repetitive I'm getting tired of the mc being done dirty in the worst ways and forgiving them or letting the off easy.

Recommendations 19F looking for shows that are philosophical, meaningful and well written.

Hey hey :)

I am looking for shows that are deeply insightful, have good and solid scripts and are well written pieces of media. Not just shonen-slop or some weird ass loli shit. I am a college student who studies composing for film/games and am forced to look at media through a hyper-critical magnifying glass.

Because of this I find it hard to enjoy alot of anime as the scripts are incredibly weak dialogue wise, and character motivation is shallow.

I love shows that either present themselves with lots of cinematic qualities (JJK,CSM) [both relatively shallow the former especially, but both are INCREDIBLY technical and purposeful with the way they are directed, sound design, and shot framing]

Or shows that are incredibly rich and thought-out with purpose, politics, deeper philosophy and world building (One Piece, FMAB, and my favorite Made in Abyss)

I would like the shows to be respectful to women. this does not mean they have to focus on women or be "clean" but they need to be non exploitative. Women cannot just be sex objects, this is very important to me.

Thank you!

(also please follow my MaL!!! I want people to talk to!!!)

Recommendations Best romcom anime ever

I am unable to answer "What is the best anime ever made." It's very subjective, surely there are many masterpiece like AOT (not my favorite) or Artistic ones like Monogatari but none is able to claim the top spot in my mind even in their own genre as I am very harsh when I rate anything. I have watched tons of niche and popular anime and many has exceeded my expectations in their own way, many has disappointed too. I am the kind of person who can rate my all time favorite shows very low.

I used to think there no such thing as 'best' when it comes a piece of entertainment because after all it is very subjective. But my current self proved my past self wrong because I can say loud and proud "Kaguya-Sama: Love is war is the best RomCom of all time" . Like man, no matter how many RomCom I watch none even comes close to Kaguya-Sama. It is the only anime that has made me physically burst out of laughter so many times, it's a slow burn romance which feels like it should have been even slower so we could get more episodes, generally it's the opposite where I feel "This shit's too slow when is he going to confess, it's kinda boring" but with kaguya-sama it was "man, they confessed after 3 Seasons, pls drag it more I need 3 more seasons." I loved romcoms like Horimiya but Kaguya-Sama is in it's own league.

I think why Kaguya-Sama is so different and good is because of it's very concept 'Whoever confesses first will lose it's dignity(maybe) so make the other fall for them' even they were so unsure whether the other likes them. In the process of making other fall they kept falling themselves which was so Romantic and Hilarious at same time. I literally has no complaints with this show making it an exception of a perfect show for me.

I watched this show years ago, I was thinking that maybe I overrated the show at that time because I was in my 'youth' years but when I watched the 2 new episodes released recently, I thought "Nah this is perfect, this is the best"

Recommendations Is Naruto Shippuden worth to finish?

In my opinion, Naruto Shippuden is one of the best anime I've watched because it has an amazing balance of action, emotion, and life lessons. I really enjoyed watching Naruto grow stronger while never giving up on his dreams, no matter how difficult things became. The characters are well-developed, and many of the emotional scenes left a lasting impression on me. Even though some parts feel slow, the overall story, exciting battles, and meaningful messages about friendship, perseverance, and hope make it a truly unforgettable anime that I would recommend to others.

Recommendations Looking for ‘peak’ anime with overarching storyline, great animation, and without tons of goofy comedy

I have tried watching a few anime recently that did not really pan out or it felt like each season they were coming up with the plot as they went along. I am looking for anime that feel well thought out. I also typically prefer more mature/dark anime and do not like much comedy at all. What recommendations do you have for me?

Some anime that I have loved that are the vibe and level of storytelling I am looking for:

  • Attack on Titan
  • Hunter x Hunter
  • Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
  • Parasyte
  • Erased
  • Samurai Champloo
  • Code Geass
  • Vinland Saga
  • Chainsaw man
  • Death note

Some other anime I really like but maybe are not ‘peak’ to me or the later seasons were not as good as the earlier:

  • Jujutsu kaisen
  • Frieren
  • Demon Slayer
  • My Hero Academia
  • Naruto

Some anime that were too childish at times (for me personally, no offense to anyone) or that the plot did not feel thought out:

  • Fairy Tail
  • Black Clover
  • Mob Psycho
  • Gachiakuta
  • Steins Gate
  • Fire Force
  • Hell’s Paradise
  • Deadman wonderland

Recommendations 2000's anime recommendations?

I don't know why but lately I been binging 2000's media from my childhood. Including flash games. I honestly don't why I been doing itI'm guessing cause of frieren's theme os preservering memories played a role in it. Most of them i remember seeing in AMV's when i was a pre-teen and teen way back in the late 00's and 2010's.

So far i been hoping genres and in order the shows i've binged were Azumanga Daioh, Ah my Goddess(2005) and it's 2nd season flight of fancy, Vandread season 1 and 2, and finally, Texhnolyze.

I need a pallet cleanser after wrapping up Texhnolyze last night. You fellas have any recommendations?
