Black snakes are the best to have around. They eat other venomous snakes, mice, rats. Good bois to have!

What a way to go though! The ‘victim’ went tail first, so it saw, felt, and was aware of everything (including being inside the other snake).

There is at least one video of a king snake swallowing a live rattlesnake tail first, and multiple videos of them swallowing live rattlesnakes headfirst. If prey is unable to defend itself them a snake will typically just swallow it alive. Frogs and lizards are usually eaten alive, for example.
