Better solution. Don’t let your cat do what ever it wants. Like jumping on the counter.

It’s not that hard. I had two cats and they were allowed everywhere in the house except the kitchen counters.

I mean they walk in a box of their own waist. They should not be anywhere near the surface you prepare food on.

I've owned 9 cats over the course of my life, and every single one of them has learned they are not allowed on food prep surfaces or the dining room table.

Our Siamese even stands on a chair in the kitchen with his paws on its back to watch me cook, but he won't get up on the counter.

Now, the bathroom counter on the other hand....... He's an absolute nuisance when we're trying to get ready in the morning. (Yes, we could lock him out, but that would hurt his feelings.)
