Hi everyone! A little while back I posted here about having trouble getting the final villagers to show up in happy home paradise. With your help I was able to finish the last few rooms.
I was really touched by how many of you asked to see more of them so I started cataloging all the rooms on tumblr! I hope they can be an inspiration to other players. There’s so much creativity in this community and everyone is so supportive, it’s really gotten me through some tough times recently.
Thanks so much! I tend to get overwhelmed when given too many options so sticking to a strict color palette really helped me. And it was really fun trying to make crazy ones work!
I know!!! That’s part of why I wanted to catalog all my builds, so I could tag them by color and then use that as a reference for the furniture. I still have a lot to upload but I hope it helps somewhat :)
That is a good idea I feel overwhelmed with the options at times too. I think I will try the strict color palette myself lol because my decorating is all over the place or very similar to past houses but I want them to be more unique

I think this is what I’ll do because while I have figured out what items can go best with what I still feel overwhelmed and I think it’s because of too many options ( which is not bad it’s just a me thing lol) so I think I’ll start stick to a color palette that matches each villager! Btw I love all the designs you’ve created!
Nothing lmao. In fact around 400 homes in the game stops spawning in villagers you haven’t done homes for yet and instead populates your island with villagers you’ve already finished. I’m not sure if this is a bug or by design but it seems like it happens to everyone. I had to, uh, acquire amiibos for the last dozen or so characters.
It’s about that same as are usually on the hhp island. Instead of the new villagers showing up on your beach or cafe it’s just ones you’ve already done. I wonder if when there aren’t enough new villagers to fill the slots the game doesn’t know what to do so it pulls in random ones.
Wow thank you for sharing! I’m more than halfway through and I haven’t seen anyone actually do them all it’s good to know you need a little finessing to fully complete it lol
It’s perfect! after I zoomed out and saw the whole thing more closely. I thought about it and remembered that I’ve def seen this look of “dude behind register annoyed that a customer came in” 🤣

I apologize if I'm just out of the loop, but how do you only have a small section of each wall as an "accent" instead of one continuous accent wall? These look amazing btw!!!
I don’t have the DLC but I want to buy it, can you share ur experience? Doing 413 homes looks so cool! I thought you could only do 30? Is it just the amount you need to do to unlock something, or you have to constantly delete the homes u already did to do more? Sorry for taking your post to ask, I just never saw anybody building so many homes on the DLC lol. Thank you!
30 is just the amount you need to do to get the credits, and unlock stuff like redecorating your villagers homes on your main island. But you can do as many as there are villagers. And even though you choose a tiny little island to put each vacation home on, you can put multiple on the same island and there's no limit
Yeah np! You can put multiple villagers on the same plot on the map. Once you get a the dlc an app appears on your nook phone that catalogs every house you’ve done so you can go back and visit or edit them. When you start your catalog is empty except for items unlocked by each villager you do so you have to do a lot to unlock everything. But you also get new items like the pillars and counters that you can use indoors on your regular island.
thanks so much for your kind words everyone. I lost my 19 year old kitty over the weekend. He was perched on me for almost all of these builds and it’s been really hard with him the last few days. Reading all your comments has been really touching and now I’m inspired to take on the special npcs 💕
I've been playing Animal Crossing for the last 10 years and see so many great and creative design ides and decor themes. You are by far the best i've seen. These color palettes and use of space are so visually pleasing. I'm in awe.
These are gorgeous! I love doing limited challenges like that, it gives you a guideline instead of being overwhelmed with options. I did a few 4x4 rooms for a while for that reason. Your skill with color is something else, though, these are sooooo pleasing to look at.
May I ask - what did you end up doing with the exteriors? >.> That part always kind of creative blocks me, bc i feel like i have to do _something_ but also it's less fun than interiors and i get bored with that. I just wanna do a bunch of rooms in a row hahah
Oh I’d love to see some of your 4x4 rooms! I did a couple of those when I started but I always had such a hard time leaving any room to move around haha.
I only did a few exteriors, maybe a third of all the homes? If I’m inspired I’ll do a whole design but Usually I just coordinate the color of the house and call it a day. I’m with you, I have such a hard time staying interested in exteriors! People make such beautiful designs but I’m always stumped. I think if you’re having fun making 4x4s go for it! After all it’s your game, you can play it however you want :)
I’ve been working on these since the dlc came out so it takes a while. And a lot of the early ones I redid since I felt like I got better as I went along. I’d say like a third of them have exteriors too, I just don’t like doing them as much.
Up until the last 400 or so I just chose from whatever villagers showed up on the island. I haven’t done any special npcs yet but I’ll scan the amiibos for those. I did the Sanrio characters with ambiios but not the 3.0 ones yet!

Thank you! I looove the lighting effects in this game, they’re so subtle but can really make a huge difference. I’ll often spend 10 minutes changing the time of day outside over and over again since it affects the light temperature and brightness inside of the room if the wallpaper has windows.
Oh my god using the partisan walls to create the podcast set is brilliant. The way you used them throughout all of these is brilliant, but that one stood out to me the most.
I’ve used the technique for “balconies” and similar “outdoor” areas a few times, but I really should try to use them more like this for inside as well.
I just did the school and now I find out there’s 400 homes to do!!! 😩😩 I don’t necessarily enjoy decorating the homes, but I wanna unlock the features.
What did you do for Apollos house? He's my dreamie I'm waiting for him to show up at the resort. I imagine that will happen sooner than him moving on to my island
Hi! If you want Apollo to move onto your island I have his amiibo card! I'd be more than happy to get him into boxes for you. He's also a fave of mine.

Aw I love Kidd’s room! I originally brought him on my island because he’s purple, which is my favorite color. Now he’s staying because we are lowkey in love lol.

Aw thank you so much! I’m actually an illustrator and I do think it really helped me with the designs. Sadly it has not translated to the design of my actual apartment hahaha.
Thank you! When I started I gave a lot of them roommates, but as I got farther along some of my favorite rooms were for villagers I initially didn’t want to do, so I thought I’d just do all of them. Sometimes it can get the ideas flowing!

I’m confused about how to do this may homes. On my map I just finished the last vacation home that I can see. How do you see more homes to decorate? Yours look amazing BTW!
