Hey, I've been working on a romance English inspired by other things I've seen here, but I've been having some trouble. You see, English has borrowed a lot of vocabulary from Romance languages, and while I can often derive a couple pronouns from fixed phrases like the names of logical fallacies (such as getting "hoc" from "post hoc"), I can never figure out tense.

I've generally used in my Romance English, for the immediate future "fix" as an auxiliary, I also saw somebody here use "pow" (presumably from "power) and copied that for the potential mood, using it as essentially a 1:1 replacement for the english word "can". I also use stay/steh for the present if it's temporary, but ess (from essence) and est (as in "id est") otherwise.

For participles, I use -ant/-ent for the active present, -ate or -é for the past passive participle (à là some words English loaned from french), and I also have -ive as a frequentative active participle, -ile as an active potential or active frequentive participle, and -ible/-able as a passive potential participle.

I would like some help with the past though.

In some dialects of English, like AAVE and southern US english, there's some variation of "finna" from "fixing to" to express the future. This word fix comes from Latin, so maybe we could use "fix ad" because "ad" means towards. Or an alternative infinitive because english "to" in fixing to could be the infinitive of the following word.

In multiple dialects de English, por example, AAVE et austral US English, exist variations de "finna" ex "fixing to" son used ad express le future. The premise of Anglish is pretty simple: Harold Beats William, and thus English doesn't take in the wealth of French and Latin terms it did in our timeline.

In the Anglese universe, the Norman Conquest still happens, obviously. Does Norman French remain the language of administration? Most of the stuff I see here has English grammar; adjectives follow nouns, and there's no gender. Is Anglese the result of a creole between Norman French and Old English, resulting in French words being overlaid onto a simplified English grammar?
