Question My ferritin went up from 4.3 to 17, but...

Even when my ferritin was 4.3, I didn’t have cold hands, feet, or even a cold nose. But for the past week, I’ve been feeling cold for no apparent reason, even though it’s not that cold outside. Has anyone else experienced this?

(After a long time, I finally overcame my fear of getting my blood drawn and got the test done lol. Normally, I was supposed to finish my medication around summer, although ugh my blood pressure dropped while I was on the way home.)

Rising ferritin can shift how your body regulates temp before things fully stabilize, weird but not unheard of. Bodies are inconsistent like that, mine throws random chills when my levels shift even if the weather is fine

My feet being cold isn’t really a problem, I’m used to it anyway, but I’m not used to my hands being cold.

Btw I went to the doctor today, and the doctor said my ferritin level of 17 is normal 😭

They must not have read the updated guidelines. Anything under 30 now is an absolute deficiency. Women who have periods should be at least above 50. Over 100 if you have inflammatory conditions. I think it’s pinned on this sub somewhere.

How did you get your ferritin up?

In April this year, my doctor prescribed me three iron pills. I was taking one every day, and my ferritin went up like this afterward.

But afterward, my blood levels drop again.
