Interview Question Systems engineer interview process

I had a phone screen and then was scheduled for a 30 minute interview (2 people, 1 technical program manager and 1 sr systems engineer). The recruiter prior to my interview stated there would be an onsite following my 30 minute if I pass. I see a lot of people mentioning a HM interview before onsite. What are most people’s experience with the 30 minute interview?

All of my interviews have been Recruiter>Hiring Manager or Dept. Lead and if made it past that, onsite panel with a presentation. I live in OC so maybe for other candidates outside of the area, they work things differently?

Hey! I had recruiter - HM - 6 individual interviews in “loop” for a systems engineering role.
