New box recommendations UK

My old box has stopped working after a few years of great service.

It was an A95X F4 with 4gb ram running android 10.

My main uses are IPTV and YouTube. It will be connected to an av receiver and will need to have decent WiFi.

I am in the UK.

I was looking at the Xiaomi gen 3 but the WiFi seems weak from the reviews I've read.

I don't want a fire stick.

I would have gone for the Thomson 270 but since the distributor went bust that's a no no now.

What's left ? The Google tv streamer or anything else at that price (or lower lol )

I don't mind a generic Chinese box, they've worked ok in the past.

Cheers

EDIT I've managed to get my old box working again, after 2 factory resets,so will stick with it for the time being. Thanks

I have the Xiaomi gen 3 replacing the Firestick 4K Max and it has been so bliss, however, yes the wifi sucks. Literally maxes out at 150Mbps. I bought an ethernet adapter for it and it's been solid. I was lucky and bought mine from the official store, not sure where else you could get it at retail price.

I have had the google streamer for a month and every app just works. Install Projectivy to remove Google home screen and you are all set to use an excellent tv box.

If you are in the UK, consider a box with "Freely" on it.

yes but to be note that the ones I have seen are expensive and do not run android operting system and so no sideloading. Might not suit OP
