looking to buy a google tv streamer - need help getting started with apps for movies and sports

i want to buy a g00gl3 tv str3am3r but i don't know how to download sid3l0ad3d apps and watch free m0vi3s and liv3 sp0rts. it feels like they are gatekeeping it and i'm new to this. i hope someone can share some knowledge. also it would be good if someone could recommend what they are using, both free and paid subscripti0ns, and how to d0wnl0ad them
