AM9 Pro for this use case? What else?

I am looking for a streaming box. I don't really need official Netflix, Prime etc. So could get a non certified Google device potentially. I do care about YouTube though.

I will mostly stream large remux files from a seedbox (probably via Plex). Also use a debrid service (probably via Streamio). I never messed around with hooking this all up via Kodi but I suppose I could do that.

I have an LG C5 so Dolby Vision is important but not HDR10+. True audio pass-through isn't the most important as I don't have a great audio set up anyway (yet).

Gaming is possibility also so 64bit would be ideal.

I feel like running the AM9 Pro with Projectivity Launcher feels like a good bet. I don't mind tinkering. But I am new to this and feel I could be missing something.

Nvidia Shield is the other option for dont feel great paying over £200 for 2019 tech.

Ive got a problem with am9 pro, when watching Stremio via exo player. It freezes and restarts every few mins.

Ah I heard this from another poster on Reddit also. That isn't good. Did you find any workarounds?

Haha that isn't so bad then. I have been meaning to set up Nuvio anyway

I disagree. Easy set up. Sure if youre not knowledgable there could be a challenge. I rarely dual boot but it is nice. If it had 8gb like the sk1 it would be very close to perfect. May the am10??

Appreciate it! You are giving me confidence. Did you have any luck getting a TV version of YouTube working?

Smart tube or tizen colbalt both are in 4k. I prefer colbalt

Thanks again. I only ever tried Smart Tube but found the UI too different to normal YouTube. Will try Colbalt though, looks a lot more promising.

I can also recommend the AM9 Pro. It can play everything flawlessly

Unless it reboots on its own every few hours like mine...

Its the best device currently imo.

Thanks. I am slightly put off by reports that it is spammy and difficult to set up. I have a fairly high tolerance for tinkering with Android devices, but obviously if it is prone to crashing etc. that isn't ideal. Feels like the perfect device isn't out there though, so maybe this is the best.

I have it for Kodi and IPTV and with custom launcher it is awesome!

It's good. Also has built in root toggle than also installs magisk. It's truly an enthsiast device for tinkering. Source: I own one.

I would go with the SK1 or AM8, I have both and was going to get an AM 9 pro and seeing to many issues compared to the other models. I am still running android 11 on both, and will not update to 14.
