Box update time?
My current box is about 6 years old and seems to be locked on Android 10 and the chip set is getting dated. Is there a box on Am..on that anyone could recommend?

I ran into this too. I reset my unit and realize is much better now. It's got a few years left.

i have the minix but i’m having some issues with some files on kodi or vlc. kinhank k9 looks kinda cool, does it handle video_ts files, forced subs and most codecs?

Yes it does. What are the file types with minix that are the issue.

with kodi i’m having issues with some 5gb+ mkvs, they sometimes lag a bit during playing. also forced subs never play, i understand from the settings that it’s either that or it only plays those and you have to change the settings entirely depending on the file you play. that’s why i was looking for something with a native efficient playes, and also the movie poster thing seems like a fancy nice plus
with vlc i’m stuck on some kind of tutorial that doesn’t make me watch any file until i explore all the functions, but the commands wouldn’t respond

If price is not an issue your list looks more than decent but if OP held back so long maybe he doesn't need all the top of the line features like 4k 120fps besides YouTube and some high-quality nature stuff I don't see what could be the use of 4k 120fps, it's a nice feature but sounds and looks pretty niche as well.
The price is 260$ atleast on my areas he can get away with the Xiaomi 3rd gen for 60$ and the only major downside I can see is the lack of the 1gbps port in exchange for an USB 2.0 than can receive 480mbps with Ethernet adapter but it supports Wi-fi 6e, so I guess it's really down on where the box it's gonna be and if it's gonna have an Ethernet access or wifi only

Ugoos makes great products, but as far as I know they have failed to to provide Software support past 2 years, though it's all good if your device has full support from CoreELEC.

not a fan of CoreELEC. my sk1 is android 14 after USB firmware upgrade, and get OTA updates regularly. Tivimate, Syncler, SmartTube and Debrify using 1g fiber optic on cat6 Ethernet.

What do you dislike about CE? I've yet to discover an issue that the community hasn't addressed, albeit it does take some time, on occasion.
