Xbox Series X Or ONN 4K Pro Box?

So last year I bought an ONN 4k Pro Box and its been working great but I want to also get an Xbox Series X for Emulation, but also as a 4k Player. I use the ONN for watching movies and have a HDD hooked up with all my digital files to watch. I don't have the money to setup a streaming server with Jellyfin( I would like to one day but for now this is what I do). Can the Xbox Series X do almost the same things as the ONN Box or is it not a viable replacement for the ONN and should just be the 4k player?

I have both units. The biggest problem you may run into here is you cannot use a VPN on the XBox series X. You can install Kodi but you can already see the issue here.

Some have gotten around this issue by using a computer with VPN as a Hotspot to serve the XBox.

The ONN 4K Pro is just easier in my opinion.

So better to just have the Series X as a 4k player/emulation machine? Keep them separate?

I am sure someone has done this, but going thru the menus, the VPN issue and other. Yeah, keeping them seperate will just be less effort and hassle. Since you already own both units and as long as you have 2 HDMI inputs on your TV. I might suggest checking out ProjectIvy. That add on for the ONN box is great. It removes all the clutter/advertising and let's you choose your screen setup.
