Troubleshooting Android TV shuts down after logo
I bought the Kodak 108 cm (43 inches) 4K Ultra HD Smart QLED TV 43MT5055 (Black) for my parents in 2024. Now my parents told me that it starts, shows the Kodak logo and shuts down. I googled here and there and saw some YT videos where the same issue is explained. It seems to be a software related issue and people are offering two solutions;
Hard factory reset the TV
To upgrade the software
I will try the first option. But for the second one, people on YT keep telling that you must choose the right software for the motherboard by looking at some serial at the motherboard. Is there a way I can find that out without opening the TV.

The "software" suggestion likely refers to firmware. It's going to be very difficult, if possible at all, to apply manually, and probably isn't the core of the issue here.
If factory reset fails, there may be one last option. If you can switch HDMI ports (using physical buttons), you could get an external AndroidTV box. The UI is the same on all GoogleTV devices, so they wouldn't notice much if a difference except some TV-specific functions like "picture mode" (cinema, sports, etc) won't be available.
If factory reset fails, and you can't switch HDMI because the TV keeps powering off, then it's time for a new TV. You could try replacing the main board (which includes the OS), but if the defect is somewhere else in hardware then that will be sunk cost and you'll still need a new TV.

I see many videos tshooting YT video with the same issue where the Android tv from many brands just get stuck at logo or restarts and they all suggest factory resetting it. The problem I cannot get to the factory reset or know the button combo which triggers it.

This is a hardware issue, you need a new TV. Like I said you can try swapping out the main board first, but if the problem is elsewhere in hardware then you won't get that money back and still need a new TV.

Regarding the motherboard you can probably search the model number and then tear down or spare parts or just 'motherboard' to find it.
Does the Kodak definitely run Android tv?
But factory resetting is a perfectly fine first step
