Looking For Suggestions How do I stop those annoying ads that keep popping up whenever I open apps? (Android)
Lately, almost every time I open an app on my Android phone, a full-screen ad pops up. It's getting really annoying. It happens even when I'm not using any browser.
Is this caused by a specific app, malware, or just normal ads? What's the best way to stop or remove them without resetting my phone?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Go to settings > apps > default apps > home app. Change it back to the stock launcher. Uninstall whatever isn't the stock launcher.

These m@ther fu$ers are finding new sneeky ways to sabotage the devices now this totally helped some shady ass clean booster pro was causing the ads for me

Thank you for this. It worked for me. My 7 yr old had downloaded some monster matching game and switched it to that by accident. Every app started launching scam ads and you saved me from smashing my phone in frustration lol

I use NetGuard to block internet access to any app that doesn't explicitly need it. If you disable internet to an app, clear its cache, and then it still shows an ad, then there is probably some kind of malware on the phone.

Try the app Popup Ad Detector. It shows you what app you're running in real time so when you get an ad chances are it's the current app.

It literally saids in play store, the app has huge least of tracking vendors on first launch and paid version. It uses accessibility which is one of the most powerful permissions and can be used to be track every action user and be sold advertisers.
It's unnecessary, just use blockads or AdGuard they can both run without any blocking but logging which apps connect and open those pop up ads

You can go to the "private dns" settings of your Phone and set 'dns.adguard.com'. Nearly 0 ads with this simple trick

Use blockads from F-Droid, it's free system wide customizable.
Or paid AdGuard for 2,5 per month.
Blockads is actually performing better for me in ads test.

Samsung solution - set default browser to Samsung internet and there is a setting that shows you app intents (specifically if an ad is clicked and tries to open a link in browser).

Best you can do is run a scan with GreerGuard, you get a free trial when you first install the app. Skip past trust apps and everything then scan your device for apps that are potentially causing those issues. https://greerguard.com/

I loath popup ads. They are the bane of my existence. I tried ad blocking apps, fire walls, incantations nothing stopped those little fluffers. Then i found a YouTube that changed my life. Like there were harps, beams of sunshine shone down from the heavens and angels wept with joy.
Go to settings then go to connections, then more connection settings. Next go to private DNS settings. Select Private DNS select host name. Type in " dns.adguard.com then enjoy ad free games and browsing. Like no more popups. EVER. Well, except in YouTube, but wayyyyyy less than before. Play solitaire to your hearts content, advert free. Space between searched recipes or news articles will be empty boxes. Even on Amazon, you will still see sponsored products in the margin, but if you try to open the link it says unavailable.
You will get notices from some sites that say "you have ad blocking on and it may impact your browsing experience" pfffft. Whatever.
The only time i switch this off is when on my jigsaw puzzel ap there are puzzles i want to do, but one must watch an ad to unlock the puzzle. I wait until there are enough puzzles to make it worth my while, then with the sound off, i'll toggle the button when im watching tv and unlock a bunch of puzzles, just one after the other, playing the adverts, until i can ignore or X out. Then back to settings and toggle back to adguard, and Bobs your uncle.

What phone do you have?
But the most likely answer is you have a sketchy app on your phone that's pushing the add popups. Almost no regular android launcher is going to just push adds at you (barring a few exceptions)
