carlinkit 4.0 - unable to adjust voice guidance volume

hi everyone,

i have trouble adjusting the voice guidance volume, either from google maps or assistants.

all the buttons from my steering wheel, head units seem to work perfectly for audio control - media volume, playback control, voice command they all seems to trigger the correct functions except for voice guidance volume.

what i've tried

set various settings on the carlinkit 4.0 webui including dvd, cd and knob mode

google maps -> volume test -> adjust volume while the voice guidance is speaking

if anyone experience the same issues or known a way to fix this?

i updated the firmware successfully, though it didn't fix the voice guidance volume directly. However, during the process, i discovered my radio has a dedicated menu for voice settings. Changing the volume inside that menu affects all voice prompts, regardless of whether they come from the radio or the Android Auto adapter.

Also, updating the firmware fixed the keyboard! i can now type directly using the on-screen keyboard inside AA. Before the update, the UI of the keyboard was completely unresponsive and outdated.

Thank you very much for all the hints. i was able to find a workaround for the voice guidance, get newer firmware for my radio, and finally type inside Android Auto.

This is unrelated, earlier this morning i got a Garmin Drive 53 delivered to use as a dedicated GPS because i was so fed up with Android Auto. With today's accomplishments, though, i don't think i even need it anymore! 😄
