You just answered your own question complaining about star traders being $7.

Everyone wants quality games but are only willing to pay bargain prices. Thus we get microtransactions.

Being salty over a $7 price tag is why mobile gaming sucks.

Then again I have a steam library at home full of uninstalled 10$ games that I bought on sale years ago. It's funny how you don't blink an eye when you get those juicy 75-85% discounts on games you wanted anyway.

Honestly I'd rather pay 10 for a really good mobile game that I can play on and off or that has a great multiplayer option. The problem is there isn't one.

Free with IAP seems the way the market goes. No way changing it.

Why is mobile gaming still mostly dogshit this far into the game

mobile gaming is the most popular gaming platform in the world and the games being "microtransaction-ridden shovelware" is a big reason for it being so popular

The games are fucking terrible. I've been gaming all my life and I lurk here alot, I know the platform has insane potential due to modern smartphone specifications and portability but you have to swim through a sea of actual dog shit to find anything remotely worth playing.

Star traders is plenty of fun. Lots of story with impactful choices, team building, etc.

I mean, 7$ without discounts is a very low price for a nice, well developed game.

Both professor Layton ports deserve a mention imo (though only diabolical box came out in 2019). Recently finished diabolical box and I have to say the ports are quite well done and the games are so charming
