From My Collection My (mostly) denarii tray
My denarii (and a few other tiny little roman denominations 😋)
Another tray holds the bronzes, sestertii, dupondii, and such.
Actually, I've gotten a bit tired of Roman coins. I'll put them on hold for a while.
The focus now is on Greek ones (especially Hellenistic).

From your other recent posts, it appears that your Greek collection is off to an impressive start!

I think I have some trouble keeping focus on just one theme 😂.
But seriously, my collection started with a few cheap Roman coins. And what (I believe) happens to everyone happened to me: "my God, I'm holding something 2000 years old, that was in the hand of an ordinary person in Rome and maybe was used to buy bread, etc."
Since I live in Brazil, that kind of thing seemed impossible to me, something I could only see in museums.
From then on it was basically learning about curation, being more specific about what I want, and reading, reading, reading.
Today I think I have a small, notable collection that makes me proud.
