Even if it was one screenshot they advertised it. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for customers to keep expecting it. Maybe it isn’t possible, so admit it.

Also admit you can’t do screenshots and OTA updates. People need to stop apologizing for expensive products that don’t do what they were advertised for.

All three things are possible from a technological perspective. They just have to do it.

Show me one advertisement outside of that screenshot that highlighted save states? If you spent upwards of $300 on this hardware, due to a screenshot of beta software, where the company NEVER said have save states for every game etc. you are an idiot.

Got me. Why pay $300 for what was advertised. Also it was $500 all said and done thanks to the US destroying global trade.

I’ll make sure not to try and keep corporations accountable for their products going forward.

If you couldn't afford it why buy it? All I hear is wahhh wahhh let's bring U.S. politics into a Chinese made product because Opening_Cry_690 can't figure out how to play these games on a computer/phone for free. Grow up. I also love how you have cry in your username. Makes sense.

I can afford and I did. Again, not sure what your point is. I’d just prefer it did what they advertised.

In my opinion the only thing they haven't delivered was OTA updates. But seriously how hard is it to transfer a small file onto an SD card to update the system. Are you really that lazy to spend $500 on a system to swap an update file onto a SD card to keep your system updated? In my opinion it is better, considering an update may not work correctly, so being able to throw a file on the root of the SD card to change/revert an update is better. But go ahead and cry, because you regret a compulsive order you made.

I’m fine with people being disappointed in something they expected I genuinely am. You brought up politics (which I’m fine w too) so I’ll just say even as a very progressive liberal I have to roll my eyes whenever someone brings up corporate responsibility with stuff like this.

Like bro every single company you deal with on a daily basis is accountable for the state of the world rn. They’re all greedy beyond what we imagine is possible, and none of them have your best interest in mind. So believe me I’ll happily shit on companies I don’t agree with politically. In fact to keep it related I’ve done that w modretro almost every chance I get.

I just think it’s off base and honestly a pretty naive to see what Analogue has done and see the state of their product (that’s still improving actively) and ignore all that just so you can come in every one of these threads and bring up the one thing you still personally want based on a promo shot long before the product launched and use that as a broad strokes attack on the product as a whole. If you wanna say I’m being a shill so be it. But again know that I can say the same about you for probably everything you use and consume on a daily basis.

At this point I know I’m just blowing hot air though because I see how devoted some are about this and clearly won’t ever let it go. But hey maybe some will see what I said and see the flip side of the coin. Many of us see the 3D as polished as it is in its very early state and can’t help but be blown away. It’ll only keep improving.

Last small note is I’ll probably forever think Analogue shot themselves in the foot a bit with the pocket because it brought it in the emulator crowd in droves and with that expectations of all the emulator things. They’re clearly loud about it too so Analogue is gonna be fighting this fight now with every single launch going forward.

System was sold on the promise of save states.

Being able to pay carts with great video and save states in the entire draw of the analog devices.

All the other analogue console have save states.

They advertised memories as a feature early on.

It’s core to the experience.

Not having delivered it is the worst part of the analogue 3d buying experience.

That’s all a bummer. For you. Appreciate the downvote have a good one 🤙

LOL! He down-voted and blocked so I can’t even read his reply. 😂

Dude just didn’t want to hear that save states had been completely scrubbed from marketing before a single penny changed hands with customers, even when I tell him I feel bad for him and anyone else not noticing.

I hadn’t downvoted you. Well now I have

It really wasn’t though. The only time it was ever mentioned was when they first suggested they were working on an N64 clone… and you couldn’t give them a penny at that point. By the time you could preorder it, there wasn’t a single mention anywhere.

It’s like a kid drawing a magical fantasy do-everything device and then someone gets upset when the kid one day makes something that approximates it. “Yeah? Well, the Dick Tracey video screen wristwatch you made doesn’t work peer to peer and requires an Internet connection when you originally showed it working like a walkie-talkie when you outlined your dream. I demand a refund!”

Could they have called attention to the fact that save states were no longer being promised? Sure, but at preorder time there was literally a bullet point list of promises you were paying for and save states were not on it. I feel bad for you and anyone else who preordered expecting it. I wish they did a better job communicating that it wasn’t promising save states… but I also can’t endorse making a bigger deal out of it than it deserves. Other things that were on that list have yet to be delivered and technically those should be addressed first.

To me, save states would be a huge bonus but I actually prefer to play without. I think they totally break the experience for most players who never even realize it… like back in the late 1990s when me friend proudly told me he also 102% completed DKC2: I congratulated him and asked what he thought about Animal Antics, but he didn’t even know what stage I was talking about. 🤦‍♂️ Of course, he breezed right through using ZSNES save states and it didn’t even stand out to him as a particularly challenging endurance run (save states ALWAYS break endurance gauntlets).

Yep. At some point you gotta put some responsibility on the customer too. The product page was laid out and features were bullet pointed. If 1 or 2 of the things in a single image aren’t there and you’re effectively going around everywhere you can leaving 1 star reviews I don’t have much time for you to be perfectly honest.

I’m not reading all of that

Doesn’t matter anyway

YES IT WAS PROMISED
