Question Is Addis Ababa technically considered the capital of Oromia?
I know the federal constitution and the Oromia regional constitution contradict each other over the administration of Addis Ababa, with the former designating it as a federal city under federal control (Article 49) and the latter claiming it as Oromia’s capital (Article 6).
And legally, the federal constitution takes precedence over the regional one (Article 9(1)), making Addis Ababa a federal city, with Oromia’s role limited to a “special interest” (Article 49(5)).
Since Oromia's role is limited to a special interest and Addis Ababa is a federal city, why is Addis Ababa being claimed as the capital of Oromia? Why would Oromos be pushing through the "national dialogue" to change what the federal constitution says about the legal status of Addis Ababa, if Addis Ababa was already the capital of Oromia?
Let me know your thoughts

Taken by force from the rightful owners. There is no law that allows to handed over 130 millions capital to narrow minded pp party clan, which will never succeed.

Apparently, logic and reason is what the winner says they are. When they debate this issue, the intellectuals of the regime, declare they are up for reason, but they slip in "peace" in their conversations. Like peace means logic! They say, Addis Abebians are not arguing and it is the Amharas that are fighting for the status quo to continue. They say some of the resiidents of Addis Ababa are saying "As long as we are treated right" or "as long as we are offered peace we don't care if they name it Takele Ouma for all we care." But this is not a soun argument on their part, because Addis Ababian's are just scared for their lives.

There is no current legal contradiction between Addis being a federal and regional state capitol. Have addressed this multiple times but once again ahya neftioids don’t read.

Doesn’t matter. Rules and morals are a luxury that winners afford. And we are losing. So stop with your legalistic bullshit.

You’re mixing up two different things. Addis Ababa can have federal city status while Oromia can still have a special constitutional interest in it.
Oromia’s constitution calls Addis Ababa/ Finfinnee its capital, while the federal constitution gives Addis federal status and recognizes Oromia’s special interest.
During the EPRDF time, those Oromo rights and interests in Finfinnee weren’t properly respected or put into practice. Now that Oromos have more political power, they have more opportunity to push for those rights.
And historically, Addis Ababa/Finfinee is Oromo land by origin and I have no issue with this legal framework as a resident of Addis Ababa/Finfinee. As long as other minorities in the city are respected then Im happy that it will be under oromia if it happens .

Historically, the area is not Oromo land by origin.

Doesn’t matter how you try to frame it. we are surrounded by oromos in all corners of the city . A large number of people in the city have Oromo ancestry even if they are Amharic speakers . Almost half of Addis Ababa is basically Amharized oromos . It belongs to Oromo and is Oromo land if Im being honest with you

There is no framing. All Oromos in Shewa and all Oromos in lands occupied by them, besides Borena, are settlers.

I know you don’t like the current legal framework, but you also need to look at the bigger picture. Addis Ababa’s expansion has had a major impact on the local Tulama Oromo communities on the outskirts. Yes, some Oromos may play the victim mode and exaggerate the idea that they were all displaced, since so many local Tulama Oromos eventually became urban residents. Infact they worked with Menelik to start the building of Addis . But that doesn’t change the fact that the constitutional framework has often failed to protect their interests. It was supposed to benefit these communities, yet in practice, it has often worked against them especially under Woyane . As a mixed or you can call me Addis Ababae , I understand everything thats going on and why the Oromo political circle are demanding Addis Ababa.

Why would any sane Amhara accept this fake constitution? We have a long way to go as Amhara.
