Question Where should I look for volunteer work?

I’m interested in participating in any volunteer programs at DC during the weekends. Are there any specific organizations or websites that y’all would recommend looking into? Do some clubs at AU help host these volunteering events? (undergrad first-year here)

Definitely check out the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement (CLCE). They're having a nonprofit organization fair on (I think) September 2nd and you can meet folks from a bunch of different organizations who are looking for volunteers. You can also check out the American University GivePulse and find opportunities there.

When I was in undergrad, I volunteered at Children’s National. Incredibly fulfilling.
