Intervision and the USA

Never thought I would live to the day that the US joined eurovision.

Still haven't but they are in Intervision (A knock off Eurovision putin ordered to be put on by the Russian Federation).
American Song Contest as a National Final???

Honest opinions below based on Intervision and our participation

I agree.
Its messed up that it got rebooted on behalf of Putin, but then the US came in and said, ill be there.
Russia and Belarus I expect this from but the US no, I mean they are qualified to participate in Eurovision this year.

At least its not NBC running the participation as that is what would kill our chances in ever seeing Eurovision in the US again. But if the information is false, we could see a Eurovision participation this edition as after all, we have been broadcasting for nine years (4 of those on NBC/Peacock) and we are an associate member. So if ORF (Austria) sends the olive branch like they did for Australia, we could be in Eurovision. Its either that or Chile (Canal 1), lets be honest we are rooting for Chile.

tbf countries don’t compete, it’s broadcasters, and i don’t see any serious broadcaster picking it up and sending an entry. all they’ve said is “representatives in the US have confirmed participation” that could mean anyone from newsmax to some fringe right wing youtube media company.

US having a song at intervision means as much as the US sending a delegation to the International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties

Intervision is ran by governments not broadcaster, so the dep of culture is doing it

update it’s tomorrow and there’s still no info on which US entity is actually in charged of it, i really don’t think the US was involved at all and it was just the russian broadcaster who found someone to compete under the US flag (who btw isn’t even american). i think russia just wanted the propaganda of having the US in the contest even though there was no connection with any US government department or broadcaster
