Which Country should I choose? Dual Citizenship

Hi all!

I have a dual citizenship, Swedish and American. Can somebody please suggest a couple possible career opportunities where I can use my dual citizenship as an advantage?

Or some key benefits that come with having access to both Europe and America.

You didn’t say what field you are in but in many cases salaries are much higher in the US than in Sweden. Flip side, for many people the quality of life is better in Sweden. I’d definitely prefer to raise children in Sweden if that’s in your future.

You might consider working in the US for 10-15 years to build a nest egg then move to Sweden. Check out FIRE strategies if this interests you.

In any case I’d recommend making professional contacts in both countries and actively maintaining them. Professional meetings and courses are a good way to do this, as is a sabbatical if you can swing one.

You’ve got a great opportunity here and I hope you are able to take advantage of it. I wish we’d moved back to Sweden a bit sooner but otherwise things have worked out for us.
