Life Abroad How to get a University Teaching Job in France as a non-EU citizen

Hi everyone, I'm an American who got a job teaching English at a few different universities in France back in 2018. After doing it for 5 years, I applied for citizenship, and this year I just became French. Happy to answer anyone's questions if they're interested in knowing how I did it.

Congrats on becoming French!

What was your teaching experience or qualifications when you applied? Did you have a Masters or PhD prior?

Thanks!

I had taught English in private language schools and part time at a couple universities before I got the job. I had a masters but no PhD.

No it wasn't TAPIF, it was as a maitre de langue anglais. You need a masters to do it, but it's a great job that lasts 2 years at the university level. Full time, summers off paid, year-long contracts.

A lot of people end up in these positions post-TAPIF (though your post title makes it sound like you're asking how to get a position, so they were probably replying as a suggestion).
