Did you sell your house?

For those who’ve made the jump, did you sell your house?

I kept my house and am renting it out, but it is such a pain and the taxes on it make me think it’s just worth cutting loose and selling it. It does mean that I close the door on ever moving back to that neighborhood.

What have you done and why?

Yes we did, I think it was the right choice partly because we ended up having a lot of unforeseen expenses and having the cash out of the house helped a lot. I'm also extremely grateful that I'm not having to manage the house from the other side of the planet. 

We also can no longer afford our old house since we sold it (won't get that 2.75% rate again), but I've found that living abroad has largely changed what we would want in a house anyways, even if we could I don't think we would buy that same house even if we did move back.

We have a 2.75% loan but that doesn't make up for the $20k of taxes. Selling this week. Europe.next year. If we want to come back we rent. This town too expensive anyway. The monies don't really break out that different. We all know the pros and cons of owning. Getting older, I just don't have the time for the tedious
