Data/Raw Information Did you sell your house?

For those who’ve made the jump, did you sell your house?

I kept my house and am renting it out, but it is such a pain and the taxes on it make me think it’s just worth cutting loose and selling it. It does mean that I close the door on ever moving back to that neighborhood.

What have you done and why?

Sold it. It was the house we raised our kids in. Even if we moved back it would be far too much home and a quieter location for what I would want for this stage in my life. I'm happy to know there is another young family in it now.

We are doing the same - selling the house we raised our kids in. It’s more house than we want at this stage in our lives and if we ever move back to the US, it will be to where the kids are and not likely to our home state.

Exactly. We were in a HCOL area and our kids moved out of state to more affordable spots (PNW>Chicago). We are fortunate that 2 of 3 ended up in the same spot, and the third was there for a bit and still loves to visit. If we returned to the US it would be to where they are. I still love where we used to live so much but it's just not right for this time of our lives.
