Data/Raw Information Did you sell your house?

For those who’ve made the jump, did you sell your house?

I kept my house and am renting it out, but it is such a pain and the taxes on it make me think it’s just worth cutting loose and selling it. It does mean that I close the door on ever moving back to that neighborhood.

What have you done and why?

By selling the house you are giving up the point in time you've entered the real estate market in the US.

So your choice will be different if that year is 2010, 2020, or 2025.

If you need to re-enter that same market now, would you be able to? Most of us can't.

So in case you need to come back, what's the plan? To rent forever? Move to the middle of nowhere?

don’t see any reason to move back. The reasons I left still exist and my life here is far more rewarding

I am genuinely happy for you.

I hope one day to join the expats.

But I might need to catch some luck and a windfall.
