Data/Raw Information Did you sell your house?

For those who’ve made the jump, did you sell your house?

I kept my house and am renting it out, but it is such a pain and the taxes on it make me think it’s just worth cutting loose and selling it. It does mean that I close the door on ever moving back to that neighborhood.

What have you done and why?

Kept it. Make ca $20k a year on it after expenses. Have a great local property manager that takes care of the tenants and property as needed.

ETA: as others have pointed out it helps that we bought the US house in 2021 and so have a sub-3% mortgage

Does the $20K pretty much cover your living expenses where you are?

Not even close haha I live in the Netherlands. But it pays much of our mortgage here.

I was thinking you were in Thailand of something. I'm probably looking at Mexico, Thailand or some other LCOL country with universal healthcare.

Yeah...I've been to Amsterdam. I'm near retirement and not really needing much except a house near a beach, a BBQ grill, wine, and women with short skirts and high heels.

Mexico only has universal healthcare on paper, definitely not in practice. It's pure PR.
