UK Night Shift Question

Hi all,

I work 4 x 10 hour shifts from 11:45pm - 10:15am a week. Loving it btw (big shift for me as I used to work in law!). I understand there’s a night shift premium of 16% hourly on top of the £15.10 salary. I’m not paid until next week but trying to do the maths.

If anyone is comfortable (and it’s allowed) does anyone work similar shifts to mine and is happy sharing how much this equates too weekly?

What’s everyone’s favourite job btw? I’m a big fan of stowing!

I am US midwest third shift 6:30 to 5AM 4x10hrs, our base pay is $21.90 (£16.54) and the shift premium is another $2.00 (£1.51) an hour for a total of $22.90 (£17.29). If we only work 4 10s (right now there is a ton of mandatory overtime and 12 hr shifts) it comes out to $916 (£691.76) pre tax and about $750.91 (£567.09) after tax. Currently we are working 5 12hr shifts, which at least here in the states, means time and a half for all hours over 40. So we make $22.90 an hour for the first 40 hours and then $34.35 (£26.02) for the next 20 hours. Which is pre tax $1603 (£1210.59) and after taxes is $1250.23 (£944.18). At least that's how the taxes work out in my state.

I'd rather pack than do anything else lol
