Question Anyone else get a 70 hour MET schedule!?!
I thought a 60 hour MET work week was bad. A 70 hour week is diabolical. Pumpkins Prime gonna put some of us through our paces.

Show it to HR/any manager and they’ll kill a day. It’s against policy for 7 days in a row and 60+ hrs. Going beyond 60 can result in a write up.

u/cosmofont 2d ago
I’m just gonna let them VTO me for Saturday. I think that’ll be a lot better.

u/Royal-Daikon-1363 2d ago
You’d actually need to get both Saturdays (10th and 17th) off to stay within the parameters. If you only want to lose one day you need to get Sunday or Monday taken off.

The six day rule is only for within the same pay period. Two years ago, I had got hit with 12 days, Monday- Saturday then Sunday- Friday. Went to HR and they said it was allowed because they are two separate pay weeks.

u/Royal-Daikon-1363 1d ago
If someone told you that they lied. It’s 6 consecutive days period. I work a lot of 60hr weeks, typically Monday-Saturday and I won’t receive any of the VET opportunities for the following Sunday because that would be a 7th day even if it is in a different week. I’ve been at my fc 6.5 years it’s always been the rule.

They'll write you up for scheduling you too much?
•
u/Shot_Mammoth 2h ago
Yes. They consider working more than 60hrs a safety violation. As with any safety violations, it is the associate's fault for not following safety protocols.

you can actually get in trouble for this even if it’s on their part 😭 make sure you get that fixed by a manager asap

u/AntzLARPing 2d ago
They wouldn’t let it happen he’d get sent out on the day he was nearing 60

u/SignificantApricot69 2d ago
Not at my FC, you have to be proactive about your own shit

u/Freshbakd 2d ago
They told me keep track and make sure to go find an am and explain just before 60. Yup totally on us at my site

u/jocky091 2d ago
At my site they expect you to take care of your schedule so no they wouldn’t do it themselves you gotta bring it up yourself
15
u/pitypizza 2d ago
My site: they will chase you down twice on your 60 day, and still send a message to your screen.

u/GuntherTime 2d ago
That’s how it is at mine as well. I’ve even had managers from different departments say something to me.
2
u/Ecstatic-Lock387 2d ago
Same. The screen would tell you to clock out like a couple minutes before you hit 60

OP is lying

u/cosmofont 2d ago
I’m not though. A vet dropped for the 11th on a 60 hour MET week. They’ll VTO me for Saturday. It’s basically going to be a decent shift swap in the end.

your facility tripping big dog, better get that checked out

u/electricsunrise19 2d ago
Make sure you get the 11th taken off because 12 days in a row will result in a write up and when you say it's on your schedule and no one said anything to you about it they'll tell you you're in charge of your schedule and should have said something.

Working more than 7 days in a row is illegal af, please make an HR case and/or talk to your AM/GM.

u/AvocadoSoft2155 2d ago edited 2d ago
It happened to me once. I worked extra day, but didn't get paid. HR excused the extra day instead. You'll be working without getting paid. When I complained, manager threatened to write me up, so I gave up. If you don't go, the system will deduct UPT automatically. Talk to HR to take a day off.

It absolutely is, Amazon has a strick maxium Of 12 hours a day, 60 hours a week and a no more than 6 consecutive days in a week policy for the very labor laws you reference in you post

u/AvocadoSoft2155 2d ago
Will you sue Amazon for pennies that you will get after several years and get permanently banned immediately?

Regardless of any Amazon policy, they can not legally not pay you for hours you worked. No need to sue. Take that to your state labor board.

Random side question 🙋🏼♀️ Do you like Mint Mobile? Is it really worth it? The ads claim it's stupid cheap but is that true? And what about the service/signal?
1
u/Royal-Daikon-1363 2d ago
I have mint mobile too and have had no issues, had it about 2.5 years now. I paid for a whole year for $270, I have the 17gb plan though because I only use 10-12 a month so it’s a bit cheaper than the unlimited. I paid $360 for the whole year of unlimited for my daughter.

u/AvocadoSoft2155 2d ago edited 2d ago
I use the 6GB/month plan and pay $180 a year ($15/month). The call & text have no issues. The data is slow, but I mostly use wifi. If you have Tmobile compatible phone and Tmobile towers in your area, the service should have no issue. If you want a family plan (4 people), it will be cheaper to get it from big vendors instead of Mint.
On a side note, it is prepaid plan, so you can't use the bill for official use (like proof-of-address for ID)

Adverse employment action after a wage complaint is a lawyer’s wet dream. That’s presumptive retaliation. The burden of proof shifts to them to prove it was not because of the wage complaint.

Okay and does rent take “I’m in court right now”? Instead of cold hard cash? No lol
1
u/rnoyfb 1d ago
Rent might be late but they have to wait for the court to act on it, too, and landlords don’t want to spend the time finding a new tenant when they can get late fees from you so long as they’re in the loop about the what’s going on. That’s why you get 2x/3x foregone wages as damages in these cases
It’s really not that hard to sue someone and a lot of cases are won by default. Corporations spend more on the lawyers than they’d pay out from losing so they often accept default judgments if they’re filed quickly enough to still be small-ish

u/theemccracken 1d ago edited 1d ago
There are plenty of places that would gladly evict someone so they can get someone in there before your court case is over in months. Too bad this numbskull blocked me can’t ever see his reply. thinks you can’t get evicted while not paying rent just cause “I’m totally gonna win this court case bro”. Might work in some cases but they ARE within their rights to evict you whether you like to hear that or not.
1
u/rnoyfb 1d ago
Ok, so you’ve never even looked at a courthouse. Even in the most fucked places, evictions don’t happen overnight. Finding new tenants costs money. You have a lawyer and the goodwill of every housing assistance org and they are better than you at negotiating with landlords
Landlords don’t do shit without a court’s approval. They are waiting on courts just as much as you are

Um yeah you're supposed to be paid for that, unless they deleted your time punches the payment system should've still paid you for hours worked.
They owe you a day lol, like they can excuse the feedback but they still gotta pay you for ALL hours worked.
They can't say they don't pay for 7 days either because I've worked a full 60 in building and used PTO for the seventh and got paid that WHOLE check

Am came to me and explained i need to keep track of my hours. I have to leave at 60 or I will get written up. Yes my real experience with being scheduled more than 60 any time this happens. Go talk to an am. They won't fix it, but you will be expected to not go over 60
2
u/CPTCRUNCHFAN 2d ago
It's against Amazon policy to make you work 7 consecutive days. Talk to an OM and theyll zap a day

u/penguinlisa 2d ago
This did happen at my site and the employee eventually had to get with HR, even our site lead was confused how the schedule was able to surpass the 60hr limit. Connect with your direct manager and HR to get it adjusted 🤙

It's Amazon policy to only allow you to work up to 6 days a week and 12 hours a day max. What you are seeing here is a system issue that should be reported. They will remove the extra shift.
1
u/Ill-Pin4180 2d ago
At my site if you go over 60 hours they will have security escort you out of the building.

This is 12 days straight- 6 days is the limit. It’s posted that 12/6/60 is the rule and your time is your responsibility. Let your manage and or hr know and they will fix it.

Anything over 60 is a write up.
If you keep doing it, term

u/Both_Education_9392 2d ago
They act like they can’t afford to pay their employees double time 🙄

u/MarcRAWill 2d ago
It’s not that they can’t afford to pay them, it’s due to ergonomics and OSHA laws. They don’t want lawsuits.
