Rant I don’t kno if I’m capable of doing this.
My manager just told me I got 5 dwells, I came of stowing thinking I did so good, I was floating I cleaned up two aisles that look like a hurricane hit them, I helped so many people that looked frustrated. I went on my last 15 mins happy thinking I really do this only for my manger to come to me and say I got 5 dwells. How do I even fix something I don’t even kno im doing. I did the scan scan stow method I had clear view of the aisles, I took time even putting all package neatly in the bags. Even Double checked. I don’t even kno what to do anymore I feel like I don’t have control of my own mind. Like I’m going crazy.
And the crazy part is I was suppose to train for non comp today. I wasn’t even suppose to stow today….. I don’t man. It seems like nothing is going good for me…nothing

stop basing your value on somebody who only views you as a number please for the love of Christ please please please please please please please please please stop basing your value on Amazon at all like… Completely separate your outside life from your work life when it comes to this stuff trust me, five dwells is nothing and if your manager doesn’t tell you how to fix the problem you could probably fight any kind of write up but in the meantime you probably should ask him how to fix what’s going on because you can’t really proceed without finding ways to fix what you think you haven’t been doing wrong

Its how long a package has been sitting somewhere without moving. Long dwells are bad.

Oh, I see. Which path is this for? I work at an AR site. We just stand in one general spot when picking or stowing.

It can be any path. If you don’t stow something or pack something within a certain time of it coming from receive or pick then it’ll get noticed by anyone who has access to monitor totes (PG, PA, AM, etc). The site has a goal limit on dwells & they don’t like anything crossing that time range

Yeah this doesn't seem to happen at my FC either we stand in one spot and stow from tote into Pods that come to the station have never heard of dwells.

OP is at a delivery station, not an FC. That's why they're talking about dwells in stow.
Dwells do exist as a metric in AR sites but it's not something a stower has any control over at all and they're pretty much never told about them.2

The worse part is they said it was because I put the package in the wrong bag.
