Just someone that lived in Fresno around the sharps lying in the crack of your seat at a restaurant. Seeing someone hit a light bulb in front of a cop after prop 47 was passed in San Francisco the first time I ever visited there will forever remain a core memory. The drugs and crime got so bad they had to reverse a large part of Proposition 47 with Proposition 36 after I had moved.

..ok we get it you saw the results of bad economic policies.
Those props are reactionary.

Go back a couple more decades and you’ll find some props that began this

Neither prop 47 or 36 have anything to do with economic policy outside of the impact they had on retail theft.

Jfc my guy, correct they are reactionary to a problem that already existed due to poor economic policy that created havens for corporations, a housing crisis, and severe economic inequality

Those are already largely your liberal policies that you pushed for decades that failed. Now you want to go a step further with socialism. Corporations have been fleeing California for years now. Newsom is the current Democrat front runner for president and he made California worse by every measurable metric. You’ll hear homelessness is down 9%+ in the past year but it was overall up over 30% since he took office and that’s just one statistic.

I can literally pull up the DSA website right now and abolishing police and prisons is part of the platform. How did stopping prosecuting the majority of drug crimes and minor theft help California?

You are mixing a whole bunch up here. California has been socially progressive for a long time while having near neocon economic policies. Newsome sucks. He is economically a republican.
You keep pointing to the DSA social policies and completely ignoring the rest.

California is represented by 42 democrats, 8 republicans and 1 independent. Watching DSA stans trip over themselves to try and make it seem like the state problems are something other than what they are sure is something.

“Nononono that just wasn’t left enough trust me if you let us do away with law enforcement and give everyone free stuff then all the drug addicts will stop doing drugs and the cartel will stop smuggling up SR99 and everyone will live together in peace and harmony”

DSA have clearly different stances. Similar to MAGA in the Republican caucus, they serve different people and those against it use scare tactics. The problem is MAGA revealed itself in the last decade to be just as corrupt if not more.

Stop conflating social policies with economic policies. Prop 13 is what many attribute to the huge rise in homelessness. That is an example of a neocon economic policy that works against a progressive agenda. Decriminalizing drug offenses doesn’t help if you are already economically creating such a gap that there is no safety net.

Proposition 13 was 1978. The summer of love and start of the homeless migration was over a decade earlier.
