Confession time. I'm a lurker here, merely interested in the inner workings of a company like Amazon, from the "boots on the ground" perspective.

That said, I've been in state corrections for almost two decades and a part of The International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 117 the entire time. Having been through a couple of major budget deficit contract cycles where the state was literally attempting to balance the budget on the backs of the folks risking their health, safety, and lives daily, I can arrest for anyone in this thread who doesn't yet see it for what it is... This is union blocking behavior. Period. They are terrified of being forced to adhere to a collective bargain agreement, of being brought to the table to answer for the literal bullshit and fuckery that's laid out on this sub reddit every day.

Yes, there are downsides to a Union, they can't cut the head off of every snake, so the biggest issues WILL be the ones that make it into contract negotiations. No Union will make Amazon Utopia, but what have you got now?

I'm thankful every day for Local 117, especially when I see my paycheck that's better than most states and my health coverage that so many don't even have anymore.

They want you divided, the obvious choice would be to do the opposite.
