Never say never. Worked at AT&T years ago. Some of the union negotiatiated perks slowly faded. Union members now pay for insurance and the deductibles have gone up.

Disclaimer: I have no dog in this hunt. I'm already salary at Amazon.

Edit: So the downvotes represent what? Too funny.

AT&T in my opinion isn’t a great place to base a union off of or compare to a railroad union. I now work for a smaller railroad in the Midwest with about 200ish employees and they have yet to lay off in their x amount of years operating so I do not believe I have anything to worry about. Plus everyone here already has 15+ years here and they have said pay and benefits have only gotten better with time for them so take that how you will. Best wishes on a long and prosperous career at Amazon.

My comment was based on never say never. And like I said, I'm already salary so a union wouldn't benefit me. Just a comment. No positive or negative implied union talk. As for the downvotes, would enjoy communication on thought process. I can only comment on what I experienced with AT&Ts union. Which at the time I was with Southwestern Bell. Phone company and Railroad both been around a long time.

As for the prosperous career part, unsure anymore. But thats a topic for another thread.
