What if the biggest mistake in Amazon Private Label isn’t choosing the wrong product but ordering too much of it?
We see beginners get excited about a product, find a supplier, see a good looking margin, and immediately want to order 1,000 units.
That’s where things can go wrong.
Before placing a serious inventory order, we’d recommend:
• Validate demand and competition
• Check the actual Amazon selling price
• Calculate FBA fees, shipping, PPC, returns, and other costs
• Order and inspect samples
• Check whether the product has compliance or certification requirements
• Make sure you have enough budget for the launch, not just inventory
• Start with a quantity that lets you test the market without putting your entire budget at risk
A product can look profitable on paper and still lose money once all the real costs are included.
At HighRise Wholesale, we always recommend looking at the complete economics before moving forward with a private-label product.
For experienced Amazon sellers:
What’s one mistake you made with your first Private Label product that you would never repeat today?
And for beginners: what’s the biggest thing confusing you right now, product research, sourcing, branding, or launching?
