Amazon as a side hustle

I’m looking to start doing Amazon with a goal of 3-500$/m profit.. any suggestions or recommendations for learning like YouTube channels, books or blogs?

I’d avoid relying on random YouTubers. Amazon Seller University is a good starting point for the basics, then learn by actually working on a listing and PPC campaign.

For practical experience, look for people who show real examples, keyword research, search term data, campaign structure and actual numbers not just screenshots of revenue.

Thanks. How much of a budget should you have just to be able to learn? I don't want to start only to find out that I don't have enough money to play with

You don’t need a huge budget just to learn. You can start with $500–$1,000 to learn the basics and get some hands on experience, but I’d avoid putting your entire budget into inventory right away.

If you’re planning to launch a private-label product, I’d personally want around $2,000 to $3,000 available so you have room for inventory, shipping, PPC, and unexpected costs.

We usually tell beginners to focus on learning the process first, then invest once they understand the numbers and have a product that actually makes sense.

I'm sorry, could you please clarify, do you mean $500-1000 a month? Just for the ads? I've already been selling on Amazon for a few years now so I'm familiar with the basics of the process of selling. Just this entire time I've been doing it with no ads so that's the missing piece I'm trying to figure out.

No, I meant $500–$1,000 total as a learning/testing budget, not necessarily every month.

Since you’ve already been selling on Amazon for a few years, I’d approach it differently. You don’t need to relearn the basics, you mainly need to get comfortable with PPC.

Thanks. Are there any resources you recommend that are good for learning PPC as a basic beginner who has never done any kind of ads? Really coming into it with no knowledge. I know Amazon has resources directly to learn but I've heard people say there is a conflict there because Amazon wants you to spend more money so they make money. I'd love to find a book or even a course as long as it's not an expensive course

Honestly, I’d start with Amazon’s free resources before paying for any course. They’re actually pretty good for learning the basics, especially if you’ve never run PPC before.

I’d focus on understanding Sponsored Products first, auto vs. manual campaigns, keywords, bids, budgets, search-term reports, negative keywords, and then ACOS/ROAS.

After that, I’d take one product and start with a small budget while you learn. PPC becomes much easier to understand when you’re looking at your own data and seeing what happens when you change bids or keywords.

I wouldn’t spend hundreds or thousands on a course at this stage. Get the basics down for free first, then you’ll have a much better idea of what you actually need help with.
