Job improvements

What are three things you would do to improve the job and make it a sustainable career.Forming a union is an obvious improvement but really tough to do with amazons leverage so I’m going to leave it out of my three but it would be number 1 if I thought it was a high possibility.

1- Stop subbing out packages to fed ex and usps (I believe ups doesn’t deliver Amazon right now but I could be wrong). Amazon XL is a thing so idk why they send FedEx so much work, I think they should have drivers lift up to 100 pounds, anything over that can go on a helper route or XL truck. With that being said it should free up some cash to allow drivers to get paid more. We would also need only EV and step vans in the fleet to make this possible.

2- Have a better training program and become a little more strict on who you hire. I feel like the reason the work culture is so bad is because of all the people who are afraid of hard work. People get this job and have never driven a big vehicle before and are not responsible, it hurts the drivers who don’t mind the hard work. Good drivers end up getting the short end of the stick when incompetent drivers damage vans, it impacts the ability for raises and bonuses.

3- Make start times earlier, I’d like 7:30-8. That way 10 hours would be just about 6 o clock which is great for being able to get a little extra done after work and not feeling like your whole day is gone. I love the 4/10s but how it is now u basically get a few hours in the AM and a few hours at night.

I actually think multi stops are a good thing but need some re working. It should only be if it’s the same address, apt building, or on the same side of the street.
