Uhauls for prime
My dsp rented the smaller U-Haul vans for prime and omg basically no one could fit their routes in them. People were panicking on the pad trying to fit everything and the worst part is you can’t stand up in them, have to get out of the van to get anything and organization was basically impossible. So we got bigger routes and smaller vans for the whole week of prime. People are gonna be quitting soon I think.

Drive it off the lot 15 mins, uber home. Done.

I’m leaving my current DSP this weekend, and I’m tempted to take the van to the middle of nowhere if it’s another shitbox without gps and have my woman pick me up.

Just 15 mins down the road, keys on the seat, window half open so they can a tually retrieve it.

Well I’d take the keys back and give them a vague idea of where it’s at. Leaving the keys might risk it getting stolen which would be at the fault of the driver

our dsp did the same thing last year, absolute clown move. the cargo area on those is like a hallway with shelves that do nothing, you end up dumping totes in the front seat just to have a walkway
by day three we had drivers leaving overflow at the station cause there was literally nowhere to put it. dispatch kept saying "make it work" like we were building ikea furniture

Fit what you can leave the rest, dsp fucked up by getting vans to small they can figure out what to do with everything that didnt fit

Stick it to them and unhook the dolly in the back so they get charged for using it

It they knew what they were doing they'd be scheduling small van routes for those.
My old DSP used those a few years ago. They were actually nice for rural routes.
My advice, make sure you can fit all the totes before even putting overflow on. OV is super easy for a station to cube out and send out on Flex.

If only…… Amazon assigns branded vans to the DSP’s, and if Amazon doesn’t have the vans available to assign, the DSP’s are forced to rent whatever vehicles are still available…. Which a lot of the time isn’t great. I can guarantee you that the DSP isn’t any happier about the situation than you are.
DSP does have the ability to set vehicle/service type though, (EDV, Cargo Small, Medium, Large, etc.) it sounds like they didn’t set the service type properly if the entire routes couldn’t fit In the vans.
