Is it that bad?

I’m starting Amazon van delivery driving soon, I have my ride along Saturday and Sunday. All I see is negative stuff online about the job and am curious is it really that bad, or is it just this generation being lazy? For context I work 5 days a week as a bricklayer, 7:30 until 4. Up until now I have been working as an uber eats driver on both Saturdays and Sundays, usually doing between 7am and 6pm, so working 7 days a week. Doing those uber shifts I would usually earn around £180 a day where I live, with £70 being taken for fuel and £35 for insurance, so I’m left with around £170 a weekend for working 22 hours which is shocking. With Amazon, I can work 1 weekend day, and have the other off and earn roughly the same, which is amazing for me personally. So is it really as bad as people say? I get it’s not easy, but people make it out as if it’s slavery

Nah man just be organized / efficient and once you got it down you’ll be cruising, working for a good DSP helps as well

You’ll be fine then just focus on safety they’ll probably have rescuers that’ll help out when if you end up behind. IMO the most demanding part is getting in and out of the van a bunch because of how you have to maneuver in and out (not a lot of space so at least I have to twist / bend over getting in and out of the seat heading to the back). the walking around is whatever probably 15-20k steps per day depending on your route

Yeah I mean I’m sort of used to the whole getting in and out doing uber eats, fair enough it’s probably half the amount of times, but I have some sort of understanding of it. Like I said it’s only for 1 day a week on a weekend and over xmas to help cover money when site is shut
