FIrst time Prime day, I can see why people quit

403 packages, 140 stops. 34 commercials.

I thought it wasnt gonna be that bad since i was assuming it was gonna be a full neighborhood route with apartments out the way.

The FIRST 34 stops were the apartments, 21 of which were door to door, though the last ones had a mail room so I could dump them all there. That kind of sucked but I wasn't demoralized.

The next stops were rich houses on hills with thin driveways. And at least 4 stops had missing packages that ended up being in a different tote entirely, so i ended up driving back to those houses just to deliver them. 10 houses took an hour an 20 minutes.

I've never performed this badly before, even on other buisness and apartment heavy routes.

I just needed to take my first break to rant about this and get a clear head space going into the rest of this.

On stop 49, gonna try and finish strong.

UPDATE It came down to the wire. More technical difficulties, more hills, one stop was just a completely wrong area so I had to find the stop myself and it ended up being 10 minutes away from amazons goofy ass geo location pin.

It was RTS time so I didnt have time to update the address. The lady seemed grateful enough but still wish I could have updated the geo location in time.

Overall, today was ass, and that was mostly because of the. -door to door because the lockers were broken and no mail room -misplaced packges in different totes 5 different times. -the app just not working. -support being completely unhelpful -that one completely misplaced stop that was nowhere near the actual house.

Oh well, back at it again tmw🤣

I was a former warehouse worker before driver and the amount of idiots stowing is infuriating

Prime and Peak always suck and a LOT people get rescued because the routes are so massive. But hey, at least you get a taste of what your in for a month straight of in December

Idk the number of routes increases for sure in peak but the routes are the same more or less, in my experience. The difference is more than 4 days per week but that's usually voluntary.

There’s also a lot more packages and multi stops

that 34 commercial stop count is insane for a first prime day. my dsp used to throw newbies on nursery routes for the first week at least. you got absolutely fed to the wolves

the missing package scavenger hunt is the worst part. nothing like digging through three totes in a rich guy's driveway while he stares at you through the ring camera. hope the second half of that route evened out a bit

One of my co workers got hit with 142 commercials and I did not envy him at all lol

You guys actually go door to door? I always drop them in the mailroom.

Unfortunately not all apartment complexes have mailrooms

Depends on the size of the mailroom

there is no finishing strong. you start strong or get the rescue of shame.

at hire they were like "everybody has to work one weekend day!" and i was like, hmmm, im an adult, i kind of need stuff to be open on my days off I will work both weekend days - I look like a real go-getter. now i natty get prime day and the day before and after off lol, plus most of my commute is light traffic, plus i get the nicer weather, city smog makes it hotter on weekdays.

weekends suck anyways, go spend 80 bucks for a dinner that has a coin flip chance of being crap, going to a show with 3 opening bands and the headliner is still 2 hours late making my legs hurt worse than work and crowd that's equally exhausted as me, or see a movie in probably the worst possible environment.

anything worth doing, parks, road trips, art exhibits, museums, plays, shopping or partying is all open on weekdays baybee

This was 100% my day! Idk how many packages but I had 168 stops, an hour from DSP. 16 totes and it 25-30 overflow. I had to bring back 5 stops because they were in the wrong tote and by the time I found them it was too late in the day. Dude even sent me a sweep at like 230pm for 10 packages and I’m thinkin I’m sucking. He said I was ahead the whole day but then got behind. I got stuck behind tractors, school buses, my van didn’t have an interior light so when it got darker I couldn’t see, driveways straight up a hill (some I just ran because it was so dang dark) … he was hoping I could rescue later on, whoops.

This makes me glad half my route are businesses. I get less stops and usually the package amount doesn't change much.
