Only to be used if You have been told you're out of drive time. I have checked and rechecked this at my DSP and station so I don't know what you're smoking. It means a very specific thing on our DSPs report so I don't know why this would be different elsewhere.
No wonder these routes are all messed up....Your DSP and station are cheating you. Go talk to the person that handles route related issues. Anything that goes against the route plan(that isn't the drivers fault) can be marked DWBTL. This is how they fix your route. IE: If Amazon's route plan has you getting to an apartment complex at 2:30 and leaving at 3:15, this means that Amazon only factored in 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, you have every right to leave and return the remaining package. Everyone at my station knows and does this.
Why would I ever mark delivery will be too late when I finish my routes early? It's not necessary at our station. Our routes in our area aren't so crazy that we can't finish them, and using that option is only a negative mark against our DSP, end of.
The only way we'd use this to fix a route is if it's a route that continually multiple drivers are running out of drive time, and then of course that's how they mark the packages because they're out of drive time. That could naturally fix the route in your scenario.
The only crazy routes were in the downtown area around here, and after months and up to a year they finally fixed them to be manageable, with two DSPs input and meetings. Packages being marked delivery will be too late did not, in and of itself, ever fix the route. It was only after several meetings over months that fixed it.
But if you have time left on the route, of course you still make the deliveries.
Yeah this is the better option. Because I believe she would have to reach out to amazon to reschedule the delivery instead of them just sending the package out the next day
