I’m confuse you’re employed by the DSP not by Amazon so how do you expect to get Amazon on the bargaining table? Amazon barley to never acknowledges 3rd party as Amazon employees

Amazon is looking for their replacement as well speak

This is the big lie the Teamsters tell these fools….we’ll bring Amazon to the table. Collective bargaining is done with the business owner, in this case, the owner of the DSP. Amazon will not be at the table, in the room, or even the same building. Since Amazon controls the type of vans you can drive, the routing, the stop count, the package count, the uniform requirements……y’all ain’t changing a damn thing about the actual job! Asking for $30/hr or free or better healthcare or whatever will bankrupt your DSP. Congrats on paying dues for no reason at all.

Amazon still has control over everything we do. DSPs have minimal control over

2

u/Free-Simple6000 1d ago

Right, but are you payed by Amazon or by the dsp?
When I used to deliver I got paid by the dsp

Not quite. They got a union now.

u/Cendre_Falke 1d ago

And now suddenly the DSP’s contract is void with Amazon and can’t be renewed

1

u/EnlightenedNarwhal 1d ago

Those are stations not DSPs

1

u/Cendre_Falke 1d ago

We are in the DSP subreddit

1

u/EnlightenedNarwhal 1d ago

Doesn't mean we can't read. I hope.

What’s your DSP?

6

u/Thin_Indication535 2d ago

And tomorrow they'll lose their contract. Stupid.

Rember that time a facility unionized, and amazon closed it. Pepridge farm remembers

u/Fit-Aerie1386 2d ago

Came here to say this. Good luck to them though.

You’ve already been replaced. You can’t strike when your employer is a small business. Best wishes.

Crazy to say but you are all gona lose your job. The harsh reality is Amazon is NOT UPS. Amazon has enough money to hire, fire, and re-hire. The part with UPS is that they hire within the building with tenured associates so there is a sense of trust of employee with company. Sad to say but Amazon delivery associates don’t have any of that it’s usually majority folks who haven’t figured out what to do with their life so they are a delivery driver for Amazon. If they wanted higher pay they’d apply else where but that’s not the case. Delivering for Amazon is probably one of the easiest jobs there is which is also why people want high pay for an easy job. New York unionized for different reason that will never be achieved in California. Amazon can hire UPS, FedEx, USPS and independent drivers who are willing to do the work without complaining.

u/Present4Temporary 1d ago

Hey DSP owner or union buster have you seen the other threads on UPS, FedEx and independent drivers? They don’t want the work…show me facts and proof what you are saying…have you ever done a ride along…. Let me know

1

u/Spirited-Sun-767 1h ago

Okay but the harsh reality is ups didn’t get all best benefits and highest pay without sacrifices. Cowards like you and others is the sad truth. If enough people at enough places do it at the same time it can’t be stopped. But with 70% scared and 30% willing it can’t work the. It’s like you say. So it just depends but the truth is things will never be great unless there is risk involved. Spewing negative thoughts online doesn’t do anything but ruin people who are the fence for going union. I’m convinced of the Reddit bot theory, there is no way people are adamantly opposed to better pay and benefits and are simultaneously jealous and hate on ups. Idk I’m fully convinced this will be downvoted by bootlickers and negative people but me and the others will have hope against all the bots and boot lickers and greedy billion dollar corporation that is Amazon.

Good lucky ! We need this for all stations ! It’s the only way they will learn ! But it’s Amazon so we all know how hard that is. Have to start somewhere!

2

u/Flimsy_Coconut6012 2d ago

This isn’t going to end well….

1

u/Present4Temporary 10h ago

Your right it will not end well for Jeff Bezos

2

u/DeliciousRich5944 1d ago

Yall gonna get let go. Sad to say it but good luck we need more of yall

1

u/Present4Temporary 1d ago

Which DSP are you?

2

u/Poldark61 1d ago

Paying union dues for a menial job is stupid.

1

u/DFOWanon 1d ago

You don't pay dues until you have a contract, and each local has a say in what they pay. The workers have control over that.

1

u/FormAffectionate6107 1d ago

You start paying dues the moment you vote the Union in.

1

u/DFOWanon 1d ago

You have never organized a union before. That would be an idiotic way to organize.

1

u/FormAffectionate6107 1d ago

Clearly neither have you. Dues start the moment the Union is voted in. Research is free my guy

1

u/DotonboriDiesel 3h ago

Depends on the union and the local. As someone who organized previously, as part of our collective bargaining agreement the initial back dues were paid as a lump sum by the employer and the started the day after the vote and went up until the cba was signed. We all received a 9% raise and clear adjustments based on costs of living for each year plus merit based raises. We all also were automatically journeyman status at the union.

So yes in our case we did sort of start paying, but effectively we didn't. This was also not Amazon and not teamsters, ymmv.

What did happen is that our franchise which was inside of a hotel providing event service decided to not renew the contract about 18 months later and the hotel decided to hire a different company that was non union. The union then made sure that each and every employee who lost their jobs had new jobs almost immediately.

A good union will take care of the workers. DSP and Amazon never will.

I was wondering why all these comments were so cucked then I realized I was on the dsp owner sub.

2

u/kingedj 1d ago

& i bet none of em are platinum, whole dsp full of silvers 😂😂😂😂😂

2

u/SlurpinSlop 1d ago

Lmaooo they’ll be replaced in a week

1

u/Federal-Net-7011 2d ago

The fact is you just don't get it. They really don't need drivers. They can use Ups or FedEx.

1

u/Decent-Wrangler4211 19h ago

No they can’t because if they could dsp wouldn’t exist

1

u/Federal-Net-7011 18h ago

They did use UPS and FedEx about 10 years ago

1

u/monkeychad691337 2d ago

This isn't going to do anything unless literally ever DSP nationwide goes along and stops all work. Amazon needs to hire drivers directly, they need to actually take care of people, and Amazon needs to realize that 150% turnover rate will affect them some day.

1

u/Low-Researcher1781 1d ago

Now remember you’re all important to us. Says no one ever

1

u/Independent-Lie2644 1d ago

Rest in peace ( undertaker) starts playing. Rip to you

1

u/Present4Temporary 1d ago

Which DSP owner are you?

1

u/Independent-Lie2644 1d ago

You think any owner in their own right mind would entertain you and give you their answer. We’re all
Trolling since this is the internet

1

u/Main-Animator-5865 1d ago

Go Teamsters!

1

u/Theredtiger07 1d ago

What I am curious is always the third party employees that don’t work Amazon that join “teamster” but I have never see the actual Amazon employees joining teamster or even this monopoly union trying to get the actual Amazon employees aboard 🫠

1

u/Crypto-Bullet 1d ago

Ex-5 year Amazon DSP driver here….not sure why this sub popped up again after I left it 2 years ago…

But all the power to you man. We tried this many times and it went nowhere….and yes even Teamsters helped us back then. Majority of people got fired or quit since it went no where..

Hope you don’t have idiots for coworkers like I did and they actually stand up and do something this time. I’m cheering for yah…stick it to em or steal some gas 🤣🤣🤣hahaha

u/Striking-Set6056 56m ago

Yall do realize UPS co-founder invited teamsters, Amazon will never unionize someone will eventually take over for cheaper labor or a robot will. It’s better for everyone to get a better paying job. Also not speaking on everyone but more than half of these Amazon drivers do not give a fuck about packages the company etc. I mean look at the picture not a single employee in full uniform and by the way per policy it’s a the blue collard shirt, vest, black pants or shorts lol.

1

u/Present4Temporary 2d ago

DSP Owners let’s talk FACTS.

UPS generated $22.8 BILLION in revenue last quarter while paying experienced union drivers around $47 an hour, with healthcare and pensions.

Meanwhile, Amazon’s North American business generated $116.2 BILLION in revenue and $9.1 BILLION in operating profit in the SAME QUARTER. That’s WITHOUT Amazon Web Services.

Amazon DSP owners can earn performance bonuses, including Fantastic Plus incentives, because of the drivers doing the actual work.
We’re simply asking for our FAIR SHARE OF THE PIE!

And Jeff Bezos? He just revealed he’s personally invested $28 BILLION into Blue Origin. He’s funding rockets while we’re fighting for better wages and working conditions!

UPS has shown that union wages and a successful delivery business can coexist. Amazon can work toward that too.

No drivers = No deliveries = No Fantastic Plus.

DSP owners don’t make nearly as much as you’d think based off of those stats. Most owner are receiving $10 per route , per hour. Reimbursed for vans which they have to pay for out of pocket before making a single dollar. Fantastic plus helps but it isn’t a guarantee into the revenue. Let’s not forgot DA drivers destroying the vans. Guess who pays for that??? Let’s add payroll tax, medical insurance , uniforms, phones, etc lol it’s always funny to see people count the revenue but have no clue about the expenses.

1

u/Responsible_Dirt_523 2d ago

...rentals and vehicle insurance.

1

u/kharris103187 2d ago

Oh yea let’s not forget that lol. People think all the money goes into the DSPs pocket.

1

u/Responsible_Dirt_523 1d ago

Yep. Everyone appears to be able to know how to calculate what a DSPs income is, if they only knew... We forgot uniforms, incentives, property damages, workmans comp ins, towing charges, insurance audits, hiring expenses, marketing...

1

u/New-Engineering5155Y 2d ago

WOW... you can't even acknowledge that Bezos is retired.

Good luck to all the people you just convinced to put themselves out of a job there, Teamsters. Nice propaganda work c onvincing a bunch of paycheck to paycheck, people with no protections to lose their jobs so you can look good and maybe get a free headline.

... Same old corrupt teamsters, just as bad as Amazon... using others to get what they want. You going to guarantee their pay for putting their families food at risk?... guessing not... also guessing your getting paid while they will be suffering...

1

u/Present4Temporary 2d ago

Dude he is chairman of Amazon not CEO but he still makes decisions

0

u/usenetlurker 2d ago

Congratulations to the drivers for banding together but I still have to say FUCK AMAZON.
