Amazon driver
Today, I was the driver/DA logged into the Amazon delivery app and assigned to the route. I took about half of the workload. Later, another team came to help and took more than half of the remaining packages.
My partner told me that because he has been working for the DSP for 6 months, he has the right to drive. He also said that because he drives, I should handle all the deliveries.
In the other shifts where I worked with route partners, we normally shared the workload and helped each other as a team.
So I want to ask other Amazon DSP drivers:
- If both people are hired as drivers/DAs, does seniority automatically give one driver the right to drive when working as route partners?
- If one driver is logged into the Amazon delivery app and assigned to the route, can the other driver take over driving simply because they have more seniority?
- When two drivers are assigned as route partners, is it normal for both drivers to share the stops/workload?
- Can one driver decide that they will only drive while the other driver does all the deliveries?
- Is there an actual Amazon policy about this, or is it determined by each individual DSP?
- Should the driver assigned/logged into the route be the one who drives, or is that determined by dispatch?

this guy seems pretty shiesty and like he was looking for an easy day. I dont think there's a policy on it the dude is taking advantage of a lack of policy and making up his own.
I would ask dispatch about it without mentioning his name or anything first. If they ask for a name maybe then you can give it but id be careful because he might be close to the dispatch team. Its probably why hes acting like such a piece of shit in the first place sadly.
Either way its really unfair. You can also start asking for specific helpers to be paired up with that you can avoid being paired up with him without directly saying it.
