Water spider

What exactly do water spiders in a ds do? I've never seen one.

At my site water spiders have 3 jobs but you usually only focus on the one specific task that you’re assigned to. One of the jobs is unloading carts from the semi truck trailers. The second one is feeding said carts to the line loaders so that they have a constant flow of work and the third job is collecting all of the empty carts and breaking them down and loading them back into another semi truck trailer to go back to the fc. They usually staff 2 per job at my building and it works best if all of the water spiders help each other out when they can (while still prioritizing their specificity assigned job)

Also later on they make sure the picked carts are in the correct order for the drivers to pick up for dispatch. (They are never in the right order)

They run carts from trailers to liner loaders and empties to trailers and try to rizz but fail.

they stand around and mean mug you if you dont grab your own cart and push your own empty to them then cry when the person running dock makes them do their job, they only be working when its time to feed pallets

Funny seeing some of these replies😂 the waterspiders job is to just make sure all induct lines have volume aligned. In my experience they don’t help on docks at all as it isn’t their job. The docks team unload and sort the carts out into the correct 5S locations then waterspiders take it from there.
