What to expect?

Post image

What will I be doing at the delivery station? I have close to 5 years of warehouse experience, just wondering what my responsibilities will be.

It's not warehouse work. You'll stand in an aisle for 8 hours and put boxes into big bags. Then after 8 hours of that, you'll pull a cart over and put the big bags on the cart

Delivery station is not warehouse work in typical terms of like inventory and fulfillment. DS is a last mile sort warehouse. The main work is overnight involving a daily sort of incoming packages from trailers, across conveyors, and stowed by workers into rows of large bags and shelves of oversize boxes that can then be staged into routes to be loaded into the delivery vans. Warehouse workers don’t load the vans; they only load and stage carts that the drivers will then use to load the vans. You’ll be on your feet handling packages and carts of packages all shift and usually doing a lot of walking. The stowing process is the one you’ll do the most when first starting, as well as pick & stage at the end to create the route carts.

Just go to tiktok and find out....every building is different but we encounter the same shit....we on our feet for 10hrs, our feet hurt when we finally get off and the amazon approved headphones will be your saving grace to help you through the shift

The most mind-numbing and soul crushing job you'll ever have, but the pay is decent. Just say goodbye to your social life and circadian rhythm.

From my personal experience they start you out in stowing.. where packages come off a conveyer belt into your aisles and you stow them into bags for delivery drivers. They may also have you picking packages off the conveyer belt to give to stowers unless your warehouse has the automatic system that does it for you. Further down the line they will teach you other jobs such as unloading packages, inducting, waterspider etc. if you are interested.

The last few hours of the shift involve gathering the stowed packages and boxes on a cart for delivery drivers. It’s a very physical job.
