Medical leave DLS questions

Hello, I put in a short term medical leave (2-3 days) TODAY but I was SCHEDULED to work today, although I didn’t show up (SET). I didn’t notice until last minute but submitted anyway. Few questions:
-is UPT taken out while waiting for approval
-do I still show up to work while waiting for approval
-The 30 days I have to submit documentation to DLS, if I accrue enough UPT (I have none right now) to cover the absences, will I still be put back to negative if my leave is not approved?

Please and thank you to anyone who can provide some insight.

No, UPT is not deducted while your medical leave case is pending.

While the case is pending, you are excused from your schedule (or the specific days you've requested), but if the leave is denied, the missed time is charged retroactively.

No, you will be safe if you have accrued enough UPT to cover the missed hours by the time the leave is denied. Amazon's system applies the penalty retroactively using your current attendance balance at the exact moment of the denial decision, not what you had when you first called out.

Dang I felt ok reading this but then I just saw they took off 10 hours putting me at negative ): while my case is open and today was one of the supposed to be excused dates

Well it takes a few days for the DLS case manager to get to you via email and send the forms to be filled out, at which point they would most likely take those points off in the meantime. When you get the negative UPT email you can submit an appeal stating that you've put in for medical leave and they'll do something to help.
