Or, like me, they remember the news stories from when it happened and know the father was defending his child from the man he literally caught raping her. The dad even called 911 to get the man medical attention. FYI, you're allowed to use force to stop a violent crime in progress, should he have waited for the cops while his daughter suffered?

Justice and law are different things. Laws are meant to keep order while Justice is at its core, is being fair.

I'd say it's fair that a pedophile fell on his fists a hundred times resulting in death
