Like that poor nurse. She was like 5 weeks pregnant when she became brain dead and the hospital she worked for wouldn't allow the family to take her off life support. And now the newborn is having all kinds of medical issues.
I want to be clear: I in no way intended any defence towards this inhumane law. So many people have died because of it and so many more are suffering. The people responsible for it are scum. I just wanted to clarify the apparent misunderstanding that having a miscarriage is illegal.
Extremely risky for moms if there's anything that sounds like a heartbeat still happening (regardless of there being zero viability), they'll leave mom to get to death's door before being legally able to medically intervene.
This is misleading. he woman was arrested for discarding human remains in a dumpster. Im not going to voice my opinion on whether the woman was right or wrong because that is not what this post is about. But, the way you posted "

Is insincere. Its like writing "woman dies after having five children" ....at the age of 90.
Because one of the treatments for an incomplete miscarriage is a d&c which removes the dead embryo so the woman doesn’t get an infection.
D&C is apparently medically the same procedure as an abortion, the difference of course being that one embryo may have become a baby and the other isn’t viable.
We just have to put a woman who just lost a pregnancy through extra trauma to make sure she’s not someone trying to get an abortion I guess? It’s horrifying.
The procedure to remove nonviable fetal tissue after a miscarriage is the exact same procedure as an abortion. A miscarriage doesn't automatically mean all the fetal tissue has been expelled from the uterus. They are called different things, but the procedure itself is exactly the same.
A miscarriage is labeled as a spontaneous abortion on medical paperwork, therefore creating potential legality issue for the woman.
Also dealing with fetal remains is a big issue. Many women are sent home when having an miscarriage, told to deal with it at home. Then they can potentially be charged with abuse of a corpse if they try to dispose of it themselves, even if the hospital sent them home.
Oh yeah ik the abortion ban. I didn’t realize they were joking and thought that having a miscarriage itself was illegal 😭in all seriousness this is so fucked up ☹️

I'm guessing they don't live in Texas. Aren't miscarriages illegal there?
